TV Tokyo's popular information variety show "Apparition! Ad Town Heaven" (Saturday 9pm) will feature "30 Years of Shibuya" on its July 26th broadcast.
Shibuya, Tokyo, is a place that has been a hotbed of youth culture since the days of Mamba & Teamer. The program will bring you the latest trends and rare footage from the show's extensive archives.
The program will introduce the arrival of the fifth "parapara" boom of Heisei culture, Center Gai which has been taken over by ganguro and manba gals, schools that continue the gal mind, Miyashita Park where youth culture is passed down, the charismatic shop assistants at SHIBUYA109 which has become a huge hit, and the resurgence of loose socks.
The program also covers pagers, which were popular among high school girls, and looks back on the time when people communicated using pager numbers such as "42885."
The trailer also shows big-name musicians on the verge of making their big break.
