The third episode of the TV drama " The Great Chase: Metropolitan Police Department SSBC Violent Crimes Unit " (TV Asahi, Wednesdays at 9pm), starring Nao Omori, Masaki Aiba and Nao Matsushita , will be broadcast on July 23rd. The synopsis and scene cuts have been released.
In a quiet residential area of Setagaya, a single mother, Sachiko Mochida (Naoko Hata), is attacked by someone and a eerie assault occurs in which only her left shoe is taken away. Shuji Igaki (Omori), a member of the SSBC Violent Crimes Division, suspects that this may be a case of serial street attacks, as a series of similar incidents occurred in Nagoya several years ago. However, the perpetrator of the incident two years ago was not arrested either.
Meanwhile, Haruka Aoyagi (Matsushita) of the First Investigation Division feels helpless as she compares the victim to her own situation as a single mother. Just then, she is suddenly informed by the First Investigation Division Chief, Masao Yaegashi ( Kenichi Endo), that the investigation is being discontinued, and she cannot hide her confusion and anger.
It seemed as though the SSBC Violent Crimes Division would be unable to investigate the case on its own, but once again Nanami Rintaro (Aiba) suggested, "Let's do it," and they once again decided to launch an independent investigation.
Eventually, security camera footage of the perpetrator's actions before the crime is found, and Tatsuya Senba (Kazuto Mokudai) emerges as a prime suspect. However, it turns out that Senba's father is the Secretary General of the ruling Jimei Party.
With her feelings as a mother and her pride as a detective in her heart, Haruka volunteers to be included in the SSBC Violent Crimes Unit's independent investigation. Igaki and Haruka, a former couple who have always been at odds with each other, finally join forces. One of the highlights of the film is the realistic interrogation scene in which Matsushita shows a terrifying expression.
The drama is an original detective drama set in the newly established "SSBC Violent Crimes Unit" of the Metropolitan Police Department Investigation Support and Analysis Center (SSBC), which is responsible for collecting and analyzing security camera footage, and analyzing smartphones and computers. The script is written by Yasushi Fukuda, a hit maker known for "HERO" (Fuji TV), "DOCTORS: The Most Powerful Doctor" (TV Asahi), the NHK Taiga drama "Ryomaden," and the Asadora drama "Manpuku."
