The new cast of the NHK Asadora drama "Anpan " (General TV, Monday to Saturday at 8:00 AM and others), starring Mio Imada , was announced on the official SNS on July 23rd, revealing that actor Todo Hinata will be making his first appearance in a Asadora as Rokuhara Eisuke, an up-and-coming director, lyricist and scriptwriter.
Eisuke Mutsuhara, played by Todo, is an eccentric and genius with a sudden flash of inspiration. He asks Takashi (played by Takumi Kitamura) to design the stage art for the musical "Look Up at the Stars at Night."
Todo commented, "When I was in elementary school, I used to watch Asadora with my grandmother, and she would say, 'I don't watch much TV, but I watch taiga dramas and Asadora.' So when I was chosen to appear in ' Anpan', I clasped my hands together and told my grandmother. Grandma, I'll be playing the role modeled after Ei Rokusuke! Ever since I decided to become an actor, appearing in a Asadora has been one of my big goals. This is my first appearance in a Asadora, and I am filled with gratitude from the bottom of my heart. I will do my best to play Rokuhara Eisuke so that he shines brightly and strongly in the lives of Nobu, Taku and the others!"
"Anpan" is based on the married couple Takashi Yanase(1919-2013) and Nobu (1918-1993), the manga artist and picture book writer who created "Anpanman." It is a "story of love and courage" that will make you feel the joy of living, depicting how these two, who were once nobody, overcame all sorts of rough seas to become "Anpanman," the embodiment of "unreversible justice."
