"School of love." Kaworu's mother Ryo's "toxic parent" behavior is a hot topic

The second episode of the drama series " School of love. " (Fuji TV, Thursdays at 10pm) starring actress Fumino Kimura was broadcast on July 17th. The "toxic parent" nature of Kosaka Nao, the mother of Kaworu (played by Raul), played by Ryo, became a hot topic.

The drama is an original love story written by Yumiko Inoue, known for her work on "Hirugao: Love Affairs in the Afternoon" (Fuji TV). Kimura plays Ogawa Manami, a serious high school teacher, and Raul plays Kaoru, a host who is bad at reading and writing.

"Kaworu, we got a first-time request. He may be old, but he seems to be doing well." When Kaworu received the report from the staff and headed to the requester, he found a woman wearing sunglasses there.

"Nice to meet you, Kaworu-chan," the woman greeted, taking off her sunglasses. It was Kaworu's mother, Nao.

"This is a nice store, new and stylish," Nao praised, grabbing her hand. "This isn't the place for you," he said, and carried Nao in his arms like a princess, leading her out of the store.

"Are you angry? I wanted to thank you the other day," Nao said, to which Kaworu replied sarcastically, "It's not a thank you, it's 'give me more money.'" Nao further excused herself by saying that the medical expenses for Kaworu's half-brother Yuki had gone up again, and said, "It's because of politics. Japan is hopeless now."

Kaoru couldn't push Nao away and told her, "I'll get the money, so wait. Don't ever come to the store." When Nao realized she would get the money, she was overjoyed and said, "Thank you! You're the only one I can rely on! Number one!"

On social media, the character became a hot topic, with comments such as "Ryo is a toxic parent," "Ryo is the worst character in history," "Nao shows up completely ignoring Kaworu's convenience, yells in the store, doesn't back down until she gets her money, and when she asks for money she says, 'It's all because of politics. Japan is hopeless.' There's a sense of despair that no matter what you say to people like this, it won't have any effect," and "It really comes across to your core that she is 'poison' to Kaworu."

On the other hand, comments such as "Isn't it great to see Ryo being carried like a princess?", "Raul carrying Ryo like a princess was so good I fainted" and "I've come to realise that Ryo (mother) and Raul (son) are truly perfect casting" were also widely shared.
