The first chapter of Yuu Watase's popular manga "Fushigi Yuugi" has been republished with a color cover in issue 16 of "Sho-Comi" (Shogakukan), released on July 18th. The series began serialization in "Shojo Comic" (now Sho-Comi) in 1992, and after about 33 years, the legendary first chapter has been republished. As an appendix, it comes with a piece of stationery featuring beautiful illustrations of the Suzaku Seven Stars, titled "Fushigi Yuugi Suzaku Seven Stars Notepad."
The first episode was republished to commemorate the 30th anniversary of the anime and the opening of the original art exhibition "Fushigi Yuugi Original Art Exhibition." The original art exhibition will be held at the Kobe Hankyu New Building 8th floor event hall (Chuo Ward, Kobe City) from August Getsuku to 25th.
"Fushigi Yuugi" is a manga that was serialized in "Shojo Comic" from 1992 to 1996. The story is about a protagonist who finds an old book, the Four Gods Book, and is invited to another world inside the book. A TV anime aired from 1995 to 1996.
The sequel, "Genbu Kaiden," began in 2003 in "Shojo Comic Special Edition" (same publisher), then changed publications and was serialized in "Monthly Flowers" until 2013. "Byakko Ibun" was published in "Monthly Flowers" in 2015, and "Byakko Senki" began serialization in the same magazine in 2017.
