It has been announced that the eighth and final season of the TV anime series " My Hero Academia ," based on the manga by Kohei Horikoshi that was serialized in "Weekly Shonen Jump" (Shueisha), will be broadcast on Yomiuri TV and Nippon TV every Saturday at 5:30 pm starting October 4th. A new key visual drawn by character designer Yoshihiko Umakoshi has been released. The visual depicts the moment in the battle between hero and villain, where their respective fates are at stake, and shows Deku ( Izuku Midoriya ) powerfully swinging his fist at Tomura Shigaraki , and All Might clad in an armored suit facing off against All For One. The accompanying copy reads, "This is the story of how we became the greatest heroes."
In the run-up to the broadcast of the final season, a popular vote for famous scenes will be held, "My Hero Academia The Animation: ULTIMATE SCENE RANKING." Fans and viewers will be voting to determine the most popular scenes for each of the 42 characters, including heroes and villains, from seasons 1 to 7 of the TV anime. Voting will be accepted until September 15th on a special website. The results will be announced on October 4th. A dedicated channel covering all of the scenes eligible for the votes has also been opened on YouTube.
"My Hero Academia" was serialized in "Weekly Shonen Jump" from July 2014 to August 2024. Set in a world where about 80% of the population has supernatural powers and quirks, the story follows Izuku Midoriya, also known as Deku, as he strives to become the greatest hero. The comics have sold over 100 million copies worldwide.
The first season of the TV anime was broadcast from April to June 2016, the second season from March to September 2017, the third season from April to September 2018, the fourth season from October 2019 to April 2020, the fifth season from March to September 2021, the sixth season from October 2022 to March 2023, and the seventh season from May to October 2024.
