The 76th episode of the NHK Asadora drama "Anpan " starring Mio Imada (General TV, Monday to Saturday at 8:00 AM and others) was broadcast on July 14th, and viewers responded to the plot development in which Diet member Maki Tetsuko (Toda Keiko) scouts Nobu (Imada).
In the 76th episode, it is the last day of a business trip to Tokyo. Nobu (Imada) and Taka ( Takumi Kitamura) find Tetsuko, the "Queen of the Underpass." Tetsuko heads to a shared room where women are gathered, asking for help. A rough-looking man comes in, but Nobu points his camera at the men and bravely confronts them, saying, "I'll put this in the newspaper." Just in the nick of time, a policeman rushes in and asks, "Who can explain the situation?" Nobu shows him a shorthand note.
Tetsuko is interested in Nobu's shorthand and asks why he started studying it. When Nobu answers, "It was something my husband said," Tetsuko asks further, "So how did you become a newspaper reporter? That camera was expensive, wasn't it? Your husband was rich, wasn't he? What kind of man was he?" When Nobu replies, "He died of illness," Tetsuko sympathizes with Nobu, saying, "I see... I'm sorry to hear such a sad story," and "You're young, but you're struggling, too."
Tetsuko passionately explains why she became a member of parliament, saying, "I want to help people in trouble no matter what means I use. I want us to rise from the depths together and laugh together someday." She then asks Nobu what she wants to do in the future. Nobu replies, "That is... I haven't found it yet. I made a mistake once, so... This time, I want to stand firmly on my own two feet and think for myself, so that I won't be swayed by those around me."
On the way home, Tetsuko scouts Nobu by asking, "Why don't you work for Ate?" Nobu cannot hide his surprise. Tetsuko says, "I haven't found the answer yet, but if you do, why don't you try looking for it together with Ate? Ate is serious. Think about it," and leaves.
On social media, comments included, "It looks like a move to Tokyo is on the cards," "It was so sudden I was surprised," "What will Taku do?" "Will Taku be the one to send Nobu off to Tokyo? Or will he move to Tokyo with him? Either way would be exciting!" "Nobu will get the chance to go to Tokyo before Taku!" and "I'm looking forward to seeing how things develop."
