The first episode of Fuji TV's " Getsuku" drama "Tomorrow Will Be a Better Day " (Monday 9pm) starring Haruka Fukuhara was broadcast on July 7th. The scene where Takuto Yoshimura (Haruto Tsuchiya) calls out to his mother Kana (Eri Tokunaga) "I want you to smile" became a hot topic among viewers.

The drama is set in a seaside child consultation center. The protagonist, Tsubasa Natsui (played by Fukuhara), is suddenly transferred from the Kanagawa Prefectural Police's violent crimes division to the child consultation center, and as a new child welfare officer, he faces various children and parents and grows together with them. This is Fukuhara's first lead role in a " Getsuku" drama.
Takuto was placed in the care of a child consultation center because Kana was suspected of abusing him and because Takuto said he did not want to go home.
Confused by this sudden turn of events, Kana makes a fuss and demands that her son be returned, and expresses her anger to the child welfare worker, Kurata (Hayashi Kento), and others, saying, "Are you assuming this is abuse and trying to take Takuto away from me?"
In the midst of all this, Kana was able to meet with Takuto. At first, Kana spoke to him in a gentle tone, but then she forced Takuto, saying, "You know, Mommy only thought about Takuto... Everything, everything was for Takuto! Mommy only thought about Takuto's happiness. Please, Takuto! Tell me you want to be with Mommy!"
However, Takuto begins crying, saying, "I don't want to be with Mom. I just came to say goodbye."
Kana divorced Takuto's father three years ago and had not been in contact with him since then. She was behind on child support payments, so she started working 12 hours a day, working part-time at a bakery during the day and cleaning at night. No matter how busy she was, she made homemade meals and aimed to be the perfect mother.
Later, Kana is hospitalized due to overwork and stress. Takuto goes to the hospital with Tsubasa and the others.
"I'm really sorry for making you feel uncomfortable because of Mommy." Kana apologized, but Takuto told her, "It's not Mommy's fault." He said, "I don't want to be with Mommy," because he was a child who didn't want to see his mother crying any more.
"I know. Mommy always works hard at her job, cooking, and doing the laundry. But I don't care if the food tastes bad. I don't care if her shoes are dirty. I don't want any of it. I want to spend more time with Mommy. I want her to smile."
Kana hugged Takuto tightly as he pleaded with tears.
On social media, comments such as, "What a kind girl. I really want her to be happy," "I want her mom to smile. I'm sobbing," "I'm going to cry at this rate... I just want them to be together," "Tokunaga Eri and the child actor who played Takuto were amazing," and "The drama really conveyed the feelings of a single mother who works two jobs for her child, as well as the child's feelings, and it made me want to watch again next week."
