Manami Ono of the idol group "Hinatazaka46" appeared at a press conference for the new program "Let's Become Hinatazaka - 5th Generation Growth Variety" held in Tokyo recently. In a corner announcing Tanabata-related wishes, she wrote on a flip chart, "I hope I 'actually' grow taller."
Ohno seems unhappy with her height listed on her official website, confessing, "Officially, my height is 153cm, and (contemporary) Iduki Shimoda is 1cm taller, but I've never looked up at Iduki before!" She continued, "So, I think this is definitely a 'misjudgment'... If I ever get the chance to be measured again, I'd like to do my best to beat Iduki (laughs)."
"Let's Become Hinatazaka - 5th Generation Growth Variety" is a revamp of the variety show "Motto! Let's Become Hinatazaka" that was previously performed by the 4th generation members, with the 5th generation members taking over. This is a "growth variety" show where the members learn from their seniors in the entertainment industry in order to become more like their seniors who are active in variety shows, radio, and dramas. It will be available on NTT Docomo's distribution service "Lemino" from July 14th.
