Sakura Matsuo of the idol group "Hinatazaka46" appeared at a press conference for the new program "Let's Become Hinatazaka - 5th Generation Growth Variety" held in Tokyo recently. She showed her strong heart by telling a "funny story" herself, demonstrating the group's distinctive "variety skills."
In a quiz from the predecessor program "Motto! Hinatazaka Ni Narimeshou," in which the senior 4th generation members appeared, the question was "What one word did you learn from Koyabu (Chitoyo)-sensei to recover when your talk goes awry on a variety show?" With many reporters watching, the high hurdle of "demonstration included" meant that not many hands were raised, so Matsuo raised his hand.
She suggested "Should we do some (fake) talk?" and when prompted by the moderator, she replied, "I went to a curry restaurant recently and ordered green curry. Then, something orange came out and it was chicken curry!...Don't look at me!" She went on to say it with a flourish, and despite her embarrassment, she had the audience laughing.
"Let's Become Hinatazaka - 5th Generation Growth Variety" is a revamp of the variety show "Motto! Let's Become Hinatazaka" that was previously performed by the 4th generation members, with the 5th generation members taking over. This is a "growth variety" show where the members learn from their seniors in the entertainment industry in order to become more like their seniors who are active in variety shows, radio, and dramas. It will be available on NTT Docomo's distribution service "Lemino" from July 14th.
