The main video of the stop-motion animation "My Melody & Kuromi," starring Sanrio's popular characters My Melody and Kuromi, has been released on YouTube. In the film, My Melody opens a cake shop in Maryland and is bustling with customers every day, while Kuromi's Japanese sweets shop is always empty, and she must search for a way to beat My Melody's shop. The released main video includes scenes where Kuromi approaches My Melody in search of the secret of her delicious recipe.
The film is an adventure story set in Maryland, where My Melody and Kuromi live. It will be directed by Tomoki Misato, known for "Pui Pui Molcar," and written by playwright Muneko Nemoto. It will be produced by TORUKU, a stop-motion studio within WIT STUDIO. Gen Hoshino will be working on the theme song "Kawaii (Prod. Gen Hoshino)," which will be sung by the five-member girl group "LE SSERAFIM," which is also a hot topic.
It will be available worldwide exclusively on Netflix on July 24th.
