◇ Taihi Kimura's sound pressure is amazing!
-- This is Taihi Kimura's first time playing the main character in an anime. Takeru seems to have a lot of scenes where he shouts.
Taihi Kimura is screaming the whole time. He screams from beginning to end. It's hard, but as he records more and more, his throat doesn't get sore and he seems to be getting better at screaming.
Kimura Ryohei: There are a lot of young cast members on set, aren't there?
Taihi Kimura: That's right. I was nervous at first, but everyone was very kind and it was a lively time. It was my first time to have so many lines. There were a lot of cuts too.
Kimura Ryohei's script is thick.
Taihi Kimura's tempo is so fast, it was hard for me to keep up at first.
Ryohei Kimura: I was sitting next to Taihi in the studio, and he was always staring at the script. When I see someone who is serious, I want to tease him, so I talked to him (laughs). I wonder if I was interrupting him.
Taihi Kimura: No! I was relieved and happy to be included with everyone.
Uchida, Ryohei, (Inoue) Marina, and Kaito all have a similar aura.
Maybe it's because all the Ishikawas are type AB.
Ryohei Kimura has said, "I don't know anything about blood type fortune telling," but I think most voice actors are type AB. There was a time when all the main cast members of another production were type AB.
Uchida-san, that's so true! The set this time was also pretty calm, and I got the impression that there were a lot of mature people.
-Have you noticed any growth or changes in Taihi Kimura?
It was fun to see the changes in Ryohei Kimura . There were times when I got the impression that he must have been practicing a lot at home.
Taihi Kimura was nervous, so I kept reading the script.
From the first time I met Ishikawa-san , I thought his sound pressure was amazing! I got curious and looked up his profile, and I saw that he listed "screaming" as one of his special skills.
Taihi Kimura, I was just joking around and wrote "scream" and forgot to erase it...
Ishikawa: That's true (laughs). But the pressure just kept getting stronger. I was terrified.
◇A script full of notes
--Did you learn a lot from acting alongside your seniors?
There was so much to learn from Taihi Kimura . The lines I wondered how they would turn out turned out to be completely unexpected, so I took lots of notes and reviewed them when I got home.
--The script is full of notes?
Taihi Kimura : That's right.
Ryohei Kimura: Each actor has a completely different approach to the script. The amount of time spent on the script doesn't necessarily equal quality, but I've recently started spending more time on reading it. Just in the past few months, I've found something to do and it's fun.
Uchida: There are some works that you can't understand unless you read the setting thoroughly, and some that you shouldn't, so I change it depending on the work, but this time it was difficult to grasp. I tried to act from Takeru's point of view, so I read the script with that in mind.
Ishikawa: I used to be the type of person who checked the script a lot. But at one point, the sound director told me, "Don't read the script." I checked it too much and my mind became rigid. But if I didn't check it at all, I made a lot of mistakes... Having experienced both extremes, now I read the script in just the right way.
Kimura Ryohei: It's interesting how different it is for each person.
What kind of performances will newcomer Taihi Kimura and other voice actors show in " Onmyo Kaiten Re:Birth "? Please keep an eye out.
