It has been revealed that the popular music unit DREAMS COME TRUE (hereafter referred to as "Doricom") will be performing the theme song for the drama series "The Great Chase: Metropolitan Police Department SSBC Violent Crimes Unit" (TV Asahi, Wednesdays at 9pm), which begins on July 9th.
Dreams Come True, who have produced hit songs such as "Haretara Iine," "LOVE LOVE LOVE," and "Nandodemo," have written a new song titled "BEACON." This is the first time Dreams Come True has written a theme song for a terrestrial TV drama in about five years, since "YES AND NO" for "Unsung Cinderella: Hospital Pharmacist's Prescription" (Fuji TV) in 2020.
The drama is the first new drama to air in about 10 years on TV Asahi's Wednesday 9pm time slot, which has previously aired shows like "Aibou," "Tokuso9," and "Keiji 7-nin." The detective drama is set in the Metropolitan Police Department Investigation Support and Analysis Center (SSBC), which is responsible for collecting and analyzing security camera footage, analyzing smartphones and computers, and profiling criminals, and stars Nao Omori, Masaki Aiba, and Nao Matsushita.
General producer Hattori Nobuyuki and producer Fujisaki Ezo made an enthusiastic offer, saying, "The theme song for the new series can only be from DREAMS COME TRUE, who have produced many songs that have suited people in all kinds of situations throughout the ages," and this led to Dreams Come True's theme song being realized.
