The 67th episode of the NHK Asadora drama "Anpan " starring Mio Imada (General TV, Monday to Saturday at 8:00 AM and others) was broadcast on July 1st, and viewers responded to Takashi ( Takumi Kitamura) getting excited about an American newspaper.
In episode 67, Takashi was selling miscellaneous goods collected from the occupying forces together with Kentaro (Fumiya Takahashi) and "Konta" Kota (Sakurai Kento). When Takashi brought back the goods, Kentaro said to him, "It's a good harvest today too." However, Takashi's expression was lackluster, and Kentaro told him, "If you keep that look on your face, you won't be able to sell anything."
Taka, holding the products he had collected as junk, muttered, "This is trash to America," and "No wonder Japan is losing." Kentaro told Taka, "For now, stop making that gloomy face."
Takashi found the American magazine "HOPE" among the junk. When he turned the page, he found an American comic book. Takashi's eyes lit up and his expression changed to one of excitement. Kentaro noticed Takashi's change and muttered, "You look healthy." Takashi stared intently at the magazine, and seemed to be excited for the first time in a long time.
Comments on social media included, "The scene where Taku found the magazine and his eyes lit up was heartwarming," "He's found hope," "His face is shining with excitement at the sight of American comics," "He really does love manga," and "I wonder if Taku will start drawing four-panel comics now that he's feeling better."
