The seventh episode of the TV drama series "Mammono" (TV Asahi, Friday 11:15pm *excluding some regions), starring actress Kumiko Aso, was broadcast on June 6th, and the shocking final scene attracted a lot of attention.
◇The following contains spoilers.
The drama is a joint production between TV Asahi and South Korea's SLL, which has produced global hits such as "Itaewon Class," and is a suspense story about a lone lawyer, Ayame (Asou), who falls in forbidden love with Toya (Akihisa Shiono), who is a suspect in a murder case.
Ayame had tolerated Touya's violence, but she decided to fight back. She conspired with Touya's wife, Natsune (Kita Kana), and succeeded in arresting the "domestic violence man," Touya, on suspicion of assault.
However, in this story, Touya is released and begins to take revenge on the women who betrayed him, driven by anger. Ayame lives in fear of Touya's relentless retaliation, including having her room ransacked while she is away.
"I'm the only one who's lost everything, because of you guys," he says, punching Natsune and continuing his rampage, Touya appears in front of Ayame. Ayame bravely brushes him off, but she has a premonition and visits Yoko (Misuzu Kanno), where she finds Yoko having been pushed down the stairs and Touya standing there, full of murderous intent.
The episode ended with a sudden turn of events, with Ayame being handcuffed and taken away by the police, covered in blood, and the body being carried in a storage bag. The final episode will be broadcast next week on June 13th.
