It has been announced that the largest ever joint exhibition of the popular anime series "Wataru", "Mashin Hero Wataru& Mashin Genesis Wataru Exhibition", will be held at Gallery AaMo in Tokyo Dome City (Bunkyo-ku, Tokyo) from July 12th. In addition to the cockpit of Ryujinmaru from "Mashin Hero Wataru" and the block Ryujinmaru from "Mashin Genesis Wataru", valuable production materials, toys, etc. will be on display until August 3rd.
"Mashin Hero Wataru" tells the story of elementary school student Senbe Wataru who is taken to another world and fights to save it. The first TV series was broadcast from 1988 to 1989. The second series, "Mashin Hero Wataru 2", aired from 1990 to 1991, and the third series, "Super Mashin Hero Wataru", aired from 1997 to 1998. A new nine-episode web anime, "Mashin Hero Wataru: Ryuujinmaru of the Seven Souls", began streaming in April 2020, and a special edited version, "Mashin Hero Wataru: Ryuujinmaru of the Seven Souls - Reunion", was released in theaters in 2022, which also attracted attention.
"Mashin Genesis Wataru" is a "Wataru" series aimed at the "new generation," in which the protagonist, Hoshibe Wataru, a fourth-grade elementary school student, appears as a YouTuber aiming to become a superstar. Together with his partner Ryujinmaru, Wataru embarks on a "buzzworthy" adventure battle in Chubukai, a parallel world of floating blocks. It is currently airing on TV Tokyo.
