The synopsis and stills from the fifth episode of the drama series " A Calm Sea and Beautiful Days with You " (Fuji TV, Thursdays at 10pm) starring Kyoko Yoshine , which will air on May 22nd, have been released.
A few weeks after Takimasa Ebata (Kyouya Honda) went to war, Natsumi Ebata (Yoshine Yoshine) is filled with anxiety when she hears from Junko Akiyama (Fujiko Kojima), whom she met at the Hanaikada Society, a gathering of wives of naval officers, that a warship has sunk.
Ikuko Shibahara (Emi Wakui), wife of Takita's superior officer, tells Natsumi that Junko was not talking about Takita's ship, but about an accident that had happened in the past. However, when Ikuko tells Natsumi that "It would not be strange if an emergency occurred tomorrow," Natsumi once again becomes more aware of her role as a military wife.
In early November, Natsumi receives a telegram from Takitaka, saying, "See you tomorrow." Her joy is short-lived, as she catches a cold and is bedridden. Her fever subsides, but on the day Takitaka returns home, her throat is still sore and she can't speak.
Meanwhile, Yoshimori Fumiko (Yamamoto Maika) comes to visit. Natsumi begs Fumiko to intervene so that Takitakado won't find out that she has a cold. The two of them knit and make croquettes while waiting for Takitakado to come home, but it gets late and he still hasn't come home. Natsumi becomes worried.
At that moment, she hears a noise from the entrance and rushes out to find Takimasa's colleague, Ryunosuke Fukami (Yuta Koseki), and Takimasa, who is completely drunk and leaning on Fukami.
Natsumi, with tears in her eyes, pushes Takitaka out the front door and closes it. The next day, Takitaka apologizes to Natsumi, but the situation takes an unexpected turn.
The story is based on the manga of the same name by Nishika Hachi, which is currently being serialized on Kodansha's manga app Comic Days. It depicts the love story that begins in 1936, when Natsumi, who was proposed to and married on "zero days of dating," and Imperial Navy lieutenant Takitaka Ebata begin their married life together.
