The second episode of "Angel Flight" will be broadcast on terrestrial TV

The second episode of the drama series "Angel Flight" starring Ryoko Yonekura will be broadcast on NHK General TV from 10:00 pm on May 10th. The subtitle of the episode is "Development aid shattered by terrorism." A terrorist attack occurs in Africa, and six Japanese people involved in infrastructure development become victims.

Nami (Yonekura) and her friends accompany them to the scene to care for the bereaved family and transport the body. Tadokoro Isao (Hirata Mitsuru), who is stunned at the loss of his son, Matsuki Kanako (Nakamura Kumi), who is all alone in the world after losing her husband, and the Kamakura couple (Yajima Kenichi and Tsutsui Mariko), who cannot believe that their daughter has died just before their wedding, are all heartbroken.

Nami and her team struggle to identify the damaged bodies as family members, unable to see their loved ones, erupt in anger that has no outlet.

This work is a dramatization of "Angel Flight: International Funeral Home Specialist" by Ryoko Sasa, winner of the 10th Kaiko Takeshi Non-Fiction Award. It depicts the activities of international funeral home specialists who transport the bodies of Japanese people who died overseas back to Japan, and foreigners who died in Japan back to their home countries. Yonekura plays Izawa Nami, a strong-willed single mother and company president.

In addition to Yonekura, the cast includes Honoka Matsumoto, Yu Shirota, Yuma Yamoto, Kayo Noro, Yu Tokui, Tamiyo Kusakari, Osamu Mukai, and Kenichi Endo. The drama was re-edited from the work distributed on Amazon Prime Video in 2024 and was broadcast on NHK BS and BS Premium 4K for the first time.
