The fifth episode of the TV anime "Witch Watch," based on the popular manga by Kenta Shinohara currently being serialized in "Weekly Shonen Jump" (Shueisha), entitled "My Student is My Favorite Artist/Today's a Heavy Stomach/Cat Scout," will be broadcast on May 4th in the MBS/TBS Sunday 5pm anime slot.
Nico, Morihito and their teacher, Makuwa-sensei, is a closeted manga otaku. He especially loves the work "Uron Mirage," commonly known as "Uro Mira." One day, he hears that one of his students, Ureshino Kukumi (known as Cook), is posting illustrations of "Uro Mira" on his social networking site, Chitter. Apparently she has 10,000 followers, and some of her illustrations have gone viral. Makuwa-sensei is intrigued by Cook's illustrations.
"Witch Watch" is a manga by Shinohara, who is known for "SKET DANCE" and "Astra Lost in Space", and began serialization in "Weekly Shonen Jump" in February 2021. It is a fantastical "magical" comedy that depicts the cohabitation life of Wakatsuki Nico, who is training to become a witch, and her childhood friend Otogi Morihito (Morihito), a high school student with the power of a demon. Morihito is given the mission of being a familiar who protects Nico from a prophesied disaster, and a future full of difficulties and wonders begins. The anime will be directed by Ikehata Hiroshi, who has worked on "Kiratto Pri☆Chan" and other works, and will be produced by Vibrant Animation Studio, which has worked on "The Quintessential Quintuplets ∫∫". It will be broadcast for two consecutive seasons.
