Actor Ryusei Yokohama stars in the NHK Taiga drama "UNBOUND (Berabou)" (General TV, Sundays at 8pm and others). The drama reached its conclusion with the 16th episode, "Farewell Gennai, the Guardian of Horai," which aired on April 20th. A new chapter will finally begin with Tsutaju (Yokohama) taking on the role of a publisher in the 17th episode, "Sakura in Bloom," which airs on May 4th. "UNBOUND (Berabou)" is the 64th taiga drama, depicting the life of Tsutaya Juzaburo(or "Tsutajyu" for short), who is said to have built the foundations of Japan's media industry and pop culture. The script was written by Yoshiko Morishita, known for "Drama 10 'Ooku'" which was broadcast on NHK two years ago and became a big hit.
First up is Tagasode, played by Haruka Fukuhara, "the greatest courtesan of the time who is in love with Tsutae and whose freedom was bought with "suspicious money."
Daresode is a prostitute from Ooya, a new powerhouse in Yoshiwara. When she was a new kimono bride after her graduation, she called herself "Kaori" and had a one-sided crush on Tsutae, but her feelings soon... She grows up and becomes one of Yoshiwara's leading courtesans.
Afterwards, she was bought out by the Shogunate vassal Tsuchiyama Sojiro, who was the head of the accounting group and was the “confidant” of the senior councilor Tanuma Okitsugu(Ken Watanabe), for a huge sum of money, and her name spread throughout Edo. However, suspicions arose about the source of the money, and before long, it developed into a major incident that would shake up Yoshiwara, the Edo Shogunate, and the lives of Tsutae and Daresode.
◇ The daughter of a bookstore owner in the city has become an irreplaceable presence
The other character is "future Tsutae's wife," played by AI Hashimoto.
Teiha is the daughter of a bookstore owner in the city. She is a modest, honest and modest woman, but in the past she has suffered many losses because of this.
For Tsutae, who grew up in Yoshiwara, where the prostitutes of a certain world gather, she is a very unfamiliar type of woman, and for Tei, Tsutae is difficult to accept, including her background. However, they share one thing in common: their love of books, which becomes a bond between the two, and before they know it, they become irreplaceable.
According to chief director Taku Ohara, both Dare Sode and Tei have something in common with Segawa in that they are both heavily involved with Tsutae, but he reveals that their approaches are "completely different."
She then sent a message to viewers, saying, "I hope you enjoy the appearance of this completely different woman. Tsutae is basically someone who doesn't understand the feelings of girls or women, so that hasn't changed at all, and it won't change in the future. People don't change that much, so I hope you'll enjoy that side of her as well."
