Actress Mio Imada , who is also making waves for her role as the heroine in the NHK Asadora drama "Anpan ," will appear on the NHK interview program "Interview Kokokara" (General), which will air from 7:30 a.m. on May 3rd.
In " Anpan ," Imada was chosen to play the heroine Nobu Asada , beating out an audition with 3,365 participants, the largest number of applicants in the history of Asadora . Imada has expanded her field of work to include movies, dramas, and commercials, but looking back, she says that before she got to where she was, "I took a lot of auditions and failed a lot of them." What was the one word that saved her from those troubled days? And now, through " Anpan, " a "story of love and courage," what is the joy of living that she feels?
NHK announcer Risa Hayashida Risa, who narrates " Anpan ," listens in the room where the heroine audition took place.
Hayashida revealed, "I wonder why Imada's portrayal of Nobu is so moving...that's what I had in my mind while watching Nobu's narration."
"I could sense his strong will and flexibility from the way he carefully spun each and every word in response to my questions, and there were many times when I was taken aback by the overlapping moments with Imada. Even as he is tossed about in turbulent times, Nobu will continue to move forward in pursuit of his dreams. This reinforced my desire to cherish and convey the fresh emotions that come from Imada-san's own continued progress toward her dreams. Just as in the story Nobu eats the Anpan to gain strength, it was a moment when I felt like I was receiving spiritual nourishment from Imada-san's words," he said, looking back on the recording.
