The 23rd episode of the NHK morning drama " Anpan " starring Mio Imada(General Asadora , Monday to Saturday at 8:00 am and others) was broadcast on April 30th. In the episode, Nobu's (Imada) elementary school classmate Tagawa Iwao (Hamao Noritaka) suddenly proposes to Ranko ( Yuumi Kawai), attracting the attention of viewers.
In episode 23, one morning, Iwao, dressed in a formal kimono and hakama, visits the Asada family and suddenly proposes to them, saying, "Please marry Ranko!" Ranko is surprised, but Iwao says, "I fell in love at first sight with Ranko, who came to help with the bread-eating contest. You were beautiful when you worked at the post office, and I have always had a crush on you!"
Kamaji (Kotaro Yoshida) is confused and asks, "Why before I even take the conscription exam?", but Iwao replies, "I have also set my sights on taking over the family business, so I came to ask for your help," and says he will provide a car with a driver for Ranko to commute to work.
When Ranko stood up, saying, "Sorry, but it's time to go to work," Iwao bowed and said, "That's really cool! I really like how you're so smart, Ranko. Sorry. I'll let you know my answer later," and left the Asada house. The Tagawa family was successful in the lumber business and was wealthy, so Meiko (Nanoka Hara) was delighted, saying, "Is this a marriage of wealth?" Ranko stared at the back of Go (Kanata Hosoda) as he worked, and then left for work.
Ranko, who had just finished work and returned home, asked Gou, "What do you think of our marriage proposal?" Gou replied, "He's rich, so I think it's a good deal." Ranko laughed sadly and said, "Really? I guess so."
That night, Ranko tells Hatako (Noriko Eguchi) that she thinks she will accept the offer. Hatako says, "You shouldn't make such an important decision in a hurry," and shows her a letter sent by the late Yutaro (Ryo Kase) from a business trip, and says, "Dad was hardly ever home on business trips, but he always sent me letters. He always thinks of Mom. You have someone important to you, don't you?" However, Ranko replies, "I've already made up my mind."
