Ryota Yamazato of the comedy duo Nankai Candies will be the substitute MC for the two-hour special variety show "Hamada Kayosai★Ookami Shounen" (TBS), which will be broadcast from 7pm on April 11th. Speaking about filling in for Masatoshi Hamada, who is currently on hiatus, Yamazato commented, "It was a big role, and the pressure made me want to puke (laughs)."
The program will feature a 2-hour special on the strongest karaoke songs. The White Team will feature Shotaro Mamiya, Jesse and Juri Tanaka from "SixTONES", Udanji Ichikawa, Shunsuke Takeuchi, Kendo Kobayashi, Kenji Okadaira from former "19", Yuto Ikeda from "WILD BLUE", and Seiya from "Shimofuri Myojo".
The opposing Red Team will be comprised of leader Mizumori Kaori, Emma Miyazawa, Chinen Rina, Kitano Kii, Yuchami, former Hinatazaka46 member Watanabe Miho, CUTIE STREET's Kawamoto Eru and Manabe Nagisa, and TikToker Ojasu.
A total of 18 celebrities will take on challenges such as the "Age Difference Chorus Time Attack," in which they must guess the name of a song after hearing only the chorus, and the "Sing and Connect! Age Difference Medley," in which they each sing one song at a time.
Yamazato commented, "From the time I was offered the role until today, there hasn't been a day when I could relax. I know that when I turn the page (of the script), it says 'Results announced!!' but I still haven't come up with a 'results announcement' that I'm satisfied with. I've been practicing at home though... (laughs)."
He continued, "Hamada has created many great matches so far, and I think another great one was added today! It will be a fight that no one could have imagined, so I hope you will come and watch. Rather than being an MC today, I was just a witness (to a great match)."
