As part of a project for Coca-Cola's beverage "Yaken no Mugicha," the popular anime "Crayon Shin-chan" was made into a live-action film for the first time, and the short movie "Another Crayon Shin-chan -chan Kettle Family!" was released on YouTube and other platforms on April Getsuku. Fumiya Takahashi Fumiya plays the grown-up Nohara Shinnosuke (25 years old), Harada Taizo plays his father Hiroshi (55 years old), and Aso Kumiko plays his mother Misae (49 years old).
Takahashi is from Kasukabe, Saitama, where "Crayon Shin-chan" is set. "I'm from Kasukabe, and I've always admired Shin-chan since I was little. I'm really grateful to be able to play Shin-chan," he said.
"Another Crayon Shin-chan -chan: The Kettle Family!" is a short movie depicting the everyday scenes of the Nohara family, who live cheerfully through all times. Shinnosuke has grown up from his free-spirited childhood, leaving his hometown of Kasukabe City to live alone in the city while working... The story is set in a world where Shinnosuke is a free-spirited adult. Episode 1, "The Kettle Family! Shinnosuke," Episode 2, "The Kettle Family! Hiroshi," and Episode 3, "The Kettle Family! Misae," have been released on the official Coca-Cola YouTube channel. Episodes 4 and 5 will be released on April 21st.
The production studio for the original manga, Yoshito Usui & UY Studio, commented, "After watching 'We're a Kettle Family,' we were impressed that the hairstyles, clothes, and even the way they speak were more like each character's than we'd imagined, yet so natural. It made us think that this is what the future of the Nohara family might be like! Even in the poster where they are holding barley tea, the atmosphere of the characters is recreated with exquisite acting ability, and we thought everyone was amazing! It was heartwarming to see that Shin-chan's likes and dislikes haven't changed even as he grows up. Also, we are looking forward to seeing what happens to Himawari's bangs."
