Having been divorced by the Kengyo, Segawa thought she would end up with Tsutaju, who had invited her to open a shop with him, but as the wife of a Kengyo who had built up a large fortune as a loan shark, she had a bad reputation and came to believe that staying by his side would be an obstacle to Tsutaju's dreams, so she chose to leave Yoshiwara herself, which meant parting ways with Tsutaju.
