It has been revealed that Utsumi Koji, Sato Hiroyuki, and Yamamoto Junichi will appear in the fifth episode (broadcast and streamed on May 4th) of the WOWOW program "7 STARS - Seven Answers - Sato Atsushi Connects the Present of Hikari Genji," in which Sato Atsushi, the youngest member of the national idol group "Hikari Genji" that debuted in 1987 and took the world by storm, visits the members. In addition, Sato Atsushi will visit singer ASKA.
Hikaru Genji is a seven-member group consisting of "Hikaru" (light) consisting of Koji Utsumi and Itsuki Osawa, and "Genji" (genji) consisting of Kazumi Morohoshi, Hiroyuki Sato, Junichi Yamamoto, Akira Akasaka, and Atsushi Sato. They debuted in 1987 with "STAR LIGHT" and won The Japan Record Awards the following year with "Paradise Galaxy". They continued to have hits such as "Taiyo ga Ippai" and "Lila no Saku Koro Barcelona e" but disbanded in 1995.
Thirty years after Hikaru Genji broke up, Sato Atsushi, who was 13 when the group debuted, visits former members with one strong desire in mind. In the second episode, he visits Miyakojima to meet Akasaka, and in the third episode, he visits Osawa, who left the group the year before the group disbanded. In the fourth episode, Utsumi, Sato Hiroyuki, and Yamamoto candidly talk about their memories of those days and the reasons why they were reluctant to appear on the show.
In episode 5, Utsumi, Hiroyuki Sato, and Yamamoto talk about their thoughts and feelings about Hikaru Genji. Also, what did ASKA, who provided many songs for Hikaru Genji such as "STAR LIGHT," "Garasu no Juudai," and "Paradise Galaxy," talk about with Atsushi Sato, and how will he respond to his feelings?
Episode 5 will be broadcast live on WOWOW from 8pm on May 4th. It will also be streamed on WOWOW On Demand (archived streaming available after the broadcast/streaming ends). Episodes 1 to 4 are also currently available on WOWOW On Demand.
