Toto Neechan:Re-broadcast from May 5th! Mitsuki Takahata "It's been nine years since then...?!" (Full comment)

It has been announced that the NHK Asadora drama series "Toto Neechan," which aired in the first half of 2016 and starred actress Mitsuki Takahata as the heroine, will be rebroadcast on the NHK General TV channel from May 5th. All 156 episodes will be aired every Monday to Friday from 12:30pm.

Takahata commented, "It's been nine years since then?! I feel dizzy at how quickly time has passed (laughs)."

"Toto Neechan" is a drama based on the life story of Ohashi Shizuko, the founder of the lifestyle magazine "Kurashi no Techo." After losing her father at the age of 11, Kobashi Tsuneko became a father figure for her family, moving from Hamamatsu to Tokyo and founding a magazine for women. The story follows the author's story of how the magazine gained support from women living in the era of rapid economic growth.

Starring Toshiaki Karasawa, Hidetoshi Nishijima , Tae Kimura, and others, and the theme song "Bouquet for You" by Hikaru Utada also became a hot topic, and future Asadora heroines Hana Sugisaki (Ochoyan) and Rina Kawaei (Come Come Everybody) also appeared. The average viewership rating for the period up to the final episode was 22.8% (Kanto region, Video Research survey).

Toto Neechan was the first drama I starred in, so I'm happy that it's being broadcast again, but I'm also embarrassed and think, "Don't watch it!", so to be honest, I'm half and half (laughs).

But the time I was allowed to be with Toto Neechan was a treasure to me, a fleeting, beautiful time that I would never trade for anything else. I really owe it all to the staff and cast of the Toto Neechan team at the time that I was able to spend it that way. And also to everyone who enjoyed watching it.

It's a little embarrassing, like flipping through my own graduation album, but I'd be thrilled if you could enjoy reuniting with the Toto Neechan family in front of the TV!
