It has been announced that Shoya Ishige will be appearing as a voice actor in the TV anime " Orb: On the Movements of the Earth (Chi: Chikyu no Undo ni Tsuite), " based on the manga by Uoto , which was also the subject of much discussion after being selected for the Osamu Tezuka Grand Prize at the 26th Tezuka Osamu Cultural Prize. Ishige will play Albert Brzewski, a young baker who appears in the 23rd episode, which will air on March 1st.
Alberto is a young man who once loved learning, but due to a certain incident, has lost his academic curiosity. After reading the original novel and the script, Ishige commented, "The events that occur in the story, and the time period in which they take place, are not something I could ever experience, yet for some reason they felt very close to me, and I was overcome with a strange sensation. I myself am not very educated, and there are many things I don't know, but as I read the story I empathized with the actions and emotions of the characters."
About Alberto, he said, "When we first see the young Alberto, he is a very resigned person due to an incident that happened in his childhood. He puts a lid on his innate thoughts, curiosity, sense of inquiry and interests, and believes that knowing anything is harmful. However, even in that situation, he is able to make choices in line with his own values. That is the kind of person I think he is."
He sent a message to his fans saying, "I am very happy to have the opportunity to participate as one of the cast members in this magnificent production and story of 'Chi.' Please stay with us to see how this story unfolds until the end."
The series was serialized in "Weekly Big Comic Spirits" (Shogakukan) from 2020 to 2022. Set in 15th century Europe, it depicts people risking their lives to study the heretical theory of heliocentrism. The anime is produced by Madhouse, which also produced " Summer Wars." It is currently airing on NHK General TV every Saturday at 11:45 pm. There are 25 episodes in total.
