The finals of the 12th "Gunpla Builders World Cup 12th Tournament," a contest to determine the world's best Gunpla (plastic model) builder from the anime "Gundam" series, were held on February 22nd at the Shinjuku Sumitomo Building Triangle Plaza (Shinjuku-ku, Tokyo), and it was announced that "God of Kungfu" (Chou Junhui), representing mainland China, was chosen as the world's best in the U-20 course for participants aged 15 and over and under 20. The diorama was made up of five mobile fighters from "Mobile Fighter G Gundam."
Second place went to Japan's representative "Beyond・The・AXIZ" (HikoNatsu), and third place went to Malaysia's representative "Armoured Devil, Engage!" (Vulcan Gunpla).
GBWC is an international competition that began in 2011, where participants compete in Gunpla construction, painting techniques, and ideas. There are three courses: U-14 for ages 6 and over, under 14, U-20 for ages 15 and over, under 20, and OVER-21 for ages 21 and over.
The event was held in 16 countries and regions, including Japan, Australia, Canada, Europe and the Middle East, Hong Kong Special Administrative Region, Indonesia, mainland China, Malaysia, the Philippines, Singapore, South Korea, Taiwan, Thailand, the United Kingdom, the United States and Vietnam, and representatives were selected from each country.
