It has been announced that the latest 43rd volume of the manga "Berserk" by the late Kentaro Miura, which is currently being serialized in "Young Animal" (Hakusensha), will be released on August 29th. This will be the first new release of the series in about two years since the 42nd volume was released on September 29th, 2023. A special edition that comes with a bust figure of Zodd, the immortal (Nosferatu), will also be released at the same time. Reservations for the special edition will be accepted until March 21st.
The bust figure is a three-dimensional representation of Zodd, supervised by Studio Gaga. The smoke rising from Zodd's body immediately after transforming into a beast is expressed with clear parts. The figure is approximately 14.5cm tall. The special edition is priced at 9,680 yen.
"Berserk" began serialization in 1989 in "Monthly Animal House" (same publisher). Set in a fictional world devastated by war, it depicts Guts, a man who uses a giant sword, fighting a fierce battle against grotesque monsters. Author Miura passed away in May 2021, and the series was on hiatus from September of the same year, but it resumed serialization in June 2022 under the supervision of Miura's close friend, manga artist Mori Koji, known for "Suicide Island" and other works, with the title "Original story by Miura Kentaro, Manga Studio Gaga, Supervised by Mori Koji."
