It has been announced that Mao Ioki , a member of the idol group " Nogizaka46 ", will star in the drama series "MADDER: That Incident, I'm the Criminal" (Kantele/Fuji TV, scheduled to air Thursday nights) which will begin airing in April. This will be Ioki's first time appearing in a terrestrial TV drama series and her first leading role. She will play a genius high school student who is drawn to the "world of crime".
This is the second drama project produced by a collaboration between KTV and Fuji TV's video streaming service "FOD". A mystery entertainment in which genius high school student Akane Nakano (Ioki) meets a young man, Yu Kurokawa, who is thought to be the culprit of a murder case, and causes a small incident at school, which eventually develops into an unprecedented serial murder case that shocks Japan. This is an original work by screenwriter "Date-san", who has planned and directed comedy stage plays as well as worked on the drama "Unlucky Girl!" (Yomiuri TV/Nippon TV, 2021).
Akane, played by Ioki, is the first student to enter a prestigious school with a deviation score of 78, scoring perfect in all subjects in the Nogizaka46. Because she is too smart, she finds the world boring and bored, and is unable to find meaning in life, but after meeting Kurokawa, she is drawn to the unknown "world of crime". A visual of her character has also been released, showing a striking cool expression, a stark contrast to the soothing smile she shows in her activities with Nogizaka46.
Ioki said, "I have been chosen to appear in a TV series. I am very happy to be able to appear in a drama that I have always wanted to try, but at the same time I am also very nervous. However, I will approach this work seriously and do my best to make sure that everyone thinks it was a good drama."
