A baton-passing ceremony was held for the Super Sentai series "Bakuage Sentai Boonboomger" (TV Asahi), which aired its final episode on February 9th, and "No.1 Sentai Gozyuger" (TV Asahi, 9:30 a.m.), which begins on the 16th, with Haruhi Iuchi, who plays Bun Red/Norimichi Daiya, passing the Sentai baton to Fuyuno Mio, who plays Goju Wolf/Tono Hoeru.
When asked by the new hero, Fuyuno, "Has anything changed since before filming began?" Iuchi replied with a smile, "The biggest thing is that I've become able to express my own opinions."
Iuchi, whose drama debut was "Boonboomger," said that at the beginning of filming, she wasn't sure whether it was okay to voice her opinions. "I have my own acting plan, but the director probably has a picture in his head, and the cameraman also has the angle of view. Also, I really didn't know how much of my opinion I should give about what the scriptwriter had written."
She continued, "But everyone asked me, 'What do you think?' and told me, 'It's okay to say more,' which gave me the motivation to be able to express my own opinion. That was the biggest thing for me, and I think it will be useful to me in the future." She gave Fuyuno a cheer, saying, "Don't forget to be grateful to the many people involved in the production, and do your best!"
In response to his senior's advice, Fuyuno said with a wry smile, "Right now, I'm still passive when it comes to what the director and staff tell me to do," and continued, "I want to change that and become more proactive, be able to express my opinions and take action, so I want to work hard so that in a year, I can be just like Iuchi-san, and that he can say, 'I'm glad I passed the baton to him,'" he said enthusiastically.

Before we started filming, Taisei Sakai and the staff of "Ohsama Sentai King-Ohger" told me, "Every day goes by so quickly, so you'd better make the most of each day." Now, I realize that they were right. It was my first time acting in a serial drama, so I really learned a lot. I learned a lot about how to behave on set and the job of an actor, so every day was very fulfilling.
I didn't know this either, but there are so many people involved in the completion of a work. There are so many people working on the set, and in other places too. I have the opportunity to meet those people, so I wanted to convey my gratitude and made it a priority to greet them. Creating a work together is a very attractive thing, and I think it's something that has continued for a long time, so I hope Fuyuno-kun will cherish that feeling and do his best.
Thank you so much for supporting and loving "Bakuage Sentai Boonboomger" over the past year. So many people, from children to adults, came to our events and stage greetings, so we were able to hear a lot of real voices there. Your voices really gave us the push we needed. When I first met Iuchi-san, I felt that she must have overcome many difficult things over the past year, and she had a courageous presence... But she was also humble and polite to all the staff, and I thought she was a person I could really respect. I am truly honored and grateful to have received the baton from such a person, so I will do my best to pass it on to her. And I will do my best to make sure that in a year, Iuchi-san says, "I'm glad I handed the baton to you!"
The highlight of "No.1 Sentai Gozyuger" is the strong and unique character of each member. I think the Super Sentai series has a strong image of fighting in teams. But "Gojuger" is really a tough team, and the characters are all unique and attractive, so I hope you'll pay attention to them.
On the set, I felt the amazing action after transformation, and since it is a 50th anniversary work, many past Super Sentai will appear, so I hope you will look forward to that as well. I am working with the feeling of "I'm going to create something new!" while learning from the history of the long history of the Super Sentai series and the heroic figures of the heroes so far.
