WOWOW's musical program "Yoshio's Mu", hosted by musical actor Yoshio Inoue. "Yoshio's Mu on Stage 2024", the program's first special event, held last fall, will be broadcast and streamed from 10 pm on February 12th. Ahead of the program, WOWOW released a report on the event on the 7th.
"Yoshio's Mu on Stage 2024" was held on October 16th last year at the "Tiara Koto Hall" (Koto Ward, Tokyo). The special guests on the day were young musical actors Hiroki Miura and Haruka Kinoshita. The production announcement for the musical "Les Miserables" was held at the Imperial Theater on that day, and Miura and Kinoshita attended the event before rushing over.
After the three talked about "Les Miserables" and other plays, the segment "Yoshio's Sue, On Stage!" began. "Sue" means souvenir, and this is a segment where guests introduce their favorite "gifts." Miura's Sue is "I like Japanese pepper flavor," and Kinoshita's Sue is "It's a sweet from a shop in Fukuoka." But what are they actually...?!
Next came the "Monthly! Actually... MEWS!" corner. This is a regular corner on the show where guests reveal an unexpected side of themselves to let the audience know about the versatility of musical actors. When Miura came out, Inoue retorted, "You're the type of person your wife wouldn't like if you married him, right?" And when Kinoshita came out, he revealed his special skill of boasting high physical ability, which was convincing, as expected of a musical actor!
When Kinoshita demonstrated the skill at the venue, Miura tried the same technique. The two obediently accepted Inoue's unreasonable request. Then, as Inoue was about to move on to the next corner, Kinoshita said, "Actually, there's one more thing..." A surprise revelation about Inoue himself, who was surprised and said, "Eh, that wasn't in the script!"
Inoue then declared, "Up next is the Premier Music Stage!" Kinoshita sang "Meebirabasuno" from the musical "The Producers," in which he co-starred with Inoue. He also showed off some choreography that couldn't be done in the main performance due to the set. Miura passionately sang "Game no Hajimari" from "Death Note THE MUSICAL." And, in keeping with the Halloween mood of the event, Inoue sang a medley of musical songs featuring ghosts, witches, and other characters.
Inoue and Kinoshita then performed a duet of "Futari wa Eien ni" (The Two of Us Are Forever) from the musical "Wicked." Next, Inoue and Miura performed a duet of "Yami ga Hiroba" (The Darkness Spreads) from "Elisabeth." Miura revealed that he had always wanted to sing this song with Yoshio, and had turned down offers to do so at concerts and other events. The entire audience listened intently to this precious first performance.
Finally, the three ended the stage by singing "Finale" from the musical "Dance of the Vampires."
