Hayato Sano, who plays Yoneda Shoya in the NHK Asadora drama "Omusubi" (General TV, Monday to Saturday at 8:00 AM and others) starring Hashimoto Kanna, Matsui Rena, who plays Aihara Mika aka "Chanmika," and Miricham, who plays Majima Ruri aka "Ruuri," participated in the "Setsubun Festival" held at Naritasan Fudoson in Neyagawa City, Osaka on February 2nd.
Sano said, "It was my first time throwing beans at so many people, but I felt like I was able to share good fortune with everyone, so I was happy. I was told to throw beans as if I was trying to get rid of the entire mountain of beans, so I kept throwing them as hard as I could, and Miricham told me, 'That's sloppy!' (laughs). I think my experience practicing baseball to play Shoya came in handy, too (laughs)."
Matsui was deeply moved, saying, "Sano threw the beans with such incredible energy that the beans fell on my head! I love bean throwing so much that I even throw them at my own events, and it was my dream to participate in the bean-throwing event at Naritasan. After it was over, I was happy to receive the compliment that 'you threw the beans more vigorously than you've done in years'."
Miricham commented, "It was my first time throwing peanuts instead of soybeans. I have small hands, so I couldn't catch the beans at all. When we were throwing the beans inside the hall, I couldn't throw them all, so people around me helped me. It was my first time throwing beans since kindergarten, but it was bigger and more fun than I imagined!"
"Omusubi" is a "Heisei youth graffiti" about a heroine born in 1989 who always values her own individuality and connects people's hearts and futures as a nutritionist with her "gal spirit". It is an original work by Nonji Nemoto, a screenwriter known for NHK's drama "Honest Real Estate".
