A special program called "Big Othello" featuring a total of 70 comedians will be broadcast on Fuji TV's "Saturday Premium" slot (Saturday 9pm) on February 1st. The comedians are divided into two teams, "Sand Country (White)" led by the comedy duo "Sandwichman" and "Kamaitachi Country (Black)" led by "Kamaitachi", and they will play as "stones" in Othello, fighting over territory in a serious comedy match. It's an "Othello battle" that combines Othello and comedy.
The game starts with entertainers placing Othello "stones" with their names written on them alternately in the center of the 36-square 6x6 stage. Then, through a total of 11 original events determined by a roulette, both teams select entertainers suitable for the target event and have them compete against each other.
The events include 11 events in total that combine intellectual and physical challenges, such as "Foot Reflexology Tug of War," "Electric Arm Sumo," "Sorry for Putting It On in a Hurry," "Random Announcement Challenge," "Monoboke Follow Show," "Celebrity Special Move Card Battle," "Silent Cutlery Breaking," and "Spinning Bat Home Run Competition."
The "guests" judge who was funnier, who was able to endure the most, etc., and decide the winner of each competition. Not only is an original rule introduced whereby if the entertainer trapped between two stones loses, he or she must defect to the opposing team (if the trapped entertainer wins, the rule remains the same), but like regular Othello, there is also a chance to turn the situation around in an instant by taking a corner of the board.
