The fourth episode of the NHK Taiga drama " UNBOUND (Berabou) " (General TV, Sunday 8pm and others), starring actor Ryusei Yokohama, "The Sweet Trap of 'Hinagata Wakana'" will be broadcast on January 26th. From this episode, Nishimura Masahiko will appear as Nishimuraya Yohachi.
Nishimura plays Nishimuraya Yohachi, who has been working on nishiki-e since the 1750s and has connections with famous artists such as Suzuki Harunobu, becoming one of Edo's leading jihon wholesalers in one generation. He works with Tsutaya Juzaburo(Yokohama) on the nishiki-e series "Hinakata Wakana Hatsu Moyou," which is a forerunner of modern-day "fashion catalogs" and is a tie-up with a kimono shop, using prostitutes from Yoshiwara as models.
After that, they produced many "beauty paintings" by Torii Kiyonaga and others, and together with the second generation, they became rivals of Tsutajyo and led the Edo publishing world together. "Eijudo of 'nishiki-e' - Tsutajyo's eternal rival."
"UNBOUND (Berabou)" is the 64th taiga drama, depicting the life of Tsutaya Juzaburo(or "Tsutajyu" for short), who is said to have built the foundations of Japan's media industry and pop culture. The script was written by Yoshiko Morishita, known for "Drama 10 'Ooku'" which was broadcast on NHK two years ago and became a big hit.
