On January 18th, actress Suzu Hirose appeared with co-star Lily Franky at a press conference in Tokyo for the production of the drama series "Who saw the peacock dance in the jungle?" (TBS, Friday 10pm), which starts on the 24th. At the press conference, Lily recalled a scene where she and Hirose eat ramen at a food stall, saying, "What I thought was amazing about Suzu was that I don't eat that much, but Hirose really eats," causing Hirose to blush and laugh.
Lily pointed out, "I've been watching Suzu's work for a long time, and in the eating scenes, she really eats." She also added, "In the ramen scene (in the drama), I think Suzu eats about three and a half bowls. Usually, you hold back halfway through, but she really eats it." Hirose replied with a smile, "It's delicious," and then revealed, laughing, "And there were ramen shop scenes about once every two days. I wonder how many bowls I ate in total that week..."
On this day, before the press conference, a project was also planned in which Hirose and the others appeared on a London bus with the drama title and other designs. Lily lamented, "We rode the London bus around Akasaka, but there was nobody there. Just the four of us waved goodbye in the empty Akasaka," to which Matsuyama Kenichi revealed, "Suzu-chan and others were talking to people walking by here and there," and Hirose recalled with a wry smile, "I asked, ' Who saw the peacock dance in the jungle?'" Isomura Hayato also attended the press conference.
The drama is based on the manga of the same name by Rito Asami. It is a human crime suspense story where the "love and destiny" of a parent and child involved in a false accusation case intertwines. The daughter of a former police officer whose father was murdered on Christmas Eve night seeks out the truth of the case using a letter he left behind as a clue. The story progresses as two cases, the present and the past, are intricately intertwined.
