Nobuo Yaname, chairman of the Villain Company, will appear on BS12 TwellV's program "Tsurube-chan and Sawako-chan: The Great Senior of the Showa Era and the Strange Two," which will be broadcast from 9 p.m. on December 23. Yaname, who has been killed more than 1,200 times in dramas as a famous villain, will talk about his childhood in Okayama, his time as a professional baseball player, and his experiences as a movie actor.
The program is a talk variety show hosted by Rakugo performer Shofutei Tsurube and essayist Agawa Sawako, and began in October last year. Tsurube, who has 52 years of showbiz experience, and Agawa, who has 40 years of showbiz experience, are called "Tsurube-chan" and "Sawako-chan," and are "great seniors of the Showa era." They appear as guests in each episode.
The program also introduces the story of a big fight between Toei's leading actors, Koji Tsuruta and Tomisaburo Wakayama, which Yaname caused. In the preview, after the narrator says, "When I was just starting out, I got paid to be shot by Ken Takakura," Yaname is seen reminiscing, "I guess it was about 600 yen to get into the pond."
