Anna Umemiya, a talent who announced that she has stage 3A breast cancer, appeared on the second episode of ABEMA's program "Women Who Can't Be Damned," which began streaming at 10 pm on December 20th. She spoke about her thoughts during her battle with the disease in her home, which was shown to the media for the first time.
Umemiya shared the details of her home in a rental apartment in Tokyo where she lives with her mother, Claudia, and daughter, Momoka. During the in-depth interview, she revealed that she was reluctant to lose her hair as a side effect of chemotherapy, and that when she was washing her hair, a clump of it fell out, so she asked Claudia to cut it for her, but she cried and asked, "Why not me?"
Umemiya is still actively involved in beauty, using different wigs and even going to a nail salon on the day she was discharged from hospital. When asked why she agreed to be interviewed closely, she revealed that it was largely due to the influence of her father, Tatsuo Umemiya, who publicly announced his cancer diagnosis and shared his experience, and said, "Even if it's just one person, I'd like to give hope to others by showing them that Anna-chan is doing this."
The show is hosted by MEGUMI, Ayame Goriki, and Hikorohi, who talk freely and honestly about "women's happiness." Currently streaming.
