The 58th episode of the NHK Asadora drama "Omusubi " starring Kanna Hashimoto was broadcast on December 18th, and viewers were drawn to the actions taken by Aiko (Kumiko Aso), who was enraged by Masato (Yukiya Kitamura).
In the 58th episode, Yui (Hashimoto) and Haraguchi (Hagiwara Toshihisa) are found out by Tachikawa (Miyake Hiroki), a veteran chef at the company cafeteria, for creating recipes without permission. Yui explains that as a nutritionist, she understood the nutritional balance of the menu and just wanted to be helpful to the company cafeteria, but Tachikawa scolds her, saying, "If you want to be helpful, just do what you're told!"
After finishing work and returning home, Yui complains to Masato and Aiko while drinking a can of beer. Masato then says, "It's Yui's fault. I told you before, wait until you get used to it." Meanwhile, Aiko asserts, "It's not Yui's fault. Tachikawa just doesn't want to change the way he does things."
Masato and Aiko were in a tense mood over the creation of a website for the barber shop. Masato said, "I understand how you feel, Tachikawa-san. Of course it's unpleasant to have a rookie criticize something you've been doing for a long time." Aiko asked, "What if it's for the sake of the shop? If you're proposing it for the sake of the shop, it's a good thing, right?" But Masato replied, "There's nothing good about it. It's my shop. What I do is up to me."
Aiko then asked, "Is that... what you really think?", and when Masato nodded, she replied, "I see, I understand," and then left the room with a blank look on her face, like a Noh mask.
The next morning, Aiko leaves a note saying, "Please don't look for me," and runs away. Furthermore, Yui receives a message on her mobile phone saying, "I will be on strike for a while," along with a picture of Aiko in a yukata taken at what appears to be a hotel.
When Masato explained what had happened to the people in the shopping district who were also regular customers of the barber shop, Misae (Kimura Midoriko) said, "This guy doesn't understand anything at all," and "He should understand for himself how grateful he is to Aiko..." and left the shop with Fukuda (Okajima Hideaki) and the others.
On social media, comments were made such as, "That was the wrong way to say it," "I hope Aiko realizes how much she has supported Masato and reflects on her actions from the bottom of her heart," "Strike! Good job Aiko, do more," and "It's a good thing that not only Misae but all of the neighbors understand Aiko's feelings! Well, there's no room for sympathy for Masato, right?"
