61-year-old singer Kaho Shimada will appear on Tetsuko Kuroyanagi's long-running talk show "Tetsuko's Room" (TV Asahi) broadcast at 1:00 pm on December 18th. Celebrating her 50th anniversary since her debut this year, she will be singing Disney's famous Christmas songs in the studio.
She started out as a child actress, then an idol singer before moving into the world of musicals. Her grandmother, Haruko, who grew up in a musical family and passed away at the age of 100, was the original moga (modern girl).
Her husband is pianist and producer Ken Shimada, who fell in love at first sight with Shimada after seeing her on the TV show "Tetsuko's Room." The couple have been married for 30 years.
