It has been announced that the TV anime Your Forma, based on the light novel by Dengeki Bunko (KADOKAWA) written by Kikuishi Mareho and illustrated by Nozaki Tsubata, will begin airing in April 2025. It will be the first in TV Asahi's nationwide anime slot IMAnimation W, which will be launched in April 2025, and will be aired every Wednesday at 11:45 pm. It was also announced that Kana Hanazawa, who plays Etica Hieda, and Kensho Ono, who plays Harold W. Lucraft, will reprise their roles from the book's release PV released in 2021. The anime will depict the story from the second volume of the original work.
The work is the grand prize winner of the 27th Dengeki Novel Prize. Set in a world where people's memories are recorded in an information terminal (Your Forma) embedded in their brains, the story follows Etika, a genius girl who became the world's youngest special agent and electric investigator, and her humanoid robot partner Harold as they tackle crime. The latest volume 7 of the light novel will be released on April 10, 2025.
The anime will be directed by Takaharu Ozaki, with series composition and scriptwriting by Kazuyuki Fudeyasu, character design by Mutsumi Kadekari, and music by Tatsuya Kato. It will be produced by Geno Studio.
Hanazawa commented, "I previously voiced Etika in the promotional video for the novel, and never thought I'd be continuing in the anime, so I was very happy. The dubbing has already been completed, but as a fan of the series, I am looking forward to the broadcast to see how the electric search scenes and Harold's beauty will be portrayed!"
Ono said, "This is a world where humanoids called Amyxes have become the norm for living in society. Harold, the character I play, is an Amyx who speaks and acts more human than humans. He is a buddy partner with the main character, Ethica, who tends to build walls between them, and I hope viewers will enjoy watching the two of them gradually grow closer and solving the case."
Original author Kikuishi commented, "I am truly grateful that my work has been brought to the screen with its beautiful artwork, music, and superb acting. The anime begins with the second volume of the original work, so I think readers of the novel will be able to enjoy the changes in the relationship between Ethica and Harold once again in a colorful world. As they investigate the case with electronic search, the main characters Ethica and Harold also have this feeling in their hearts as they face each other and themselves. Can humans and machines be connected through their hearts? For this animation, we decided to draw from the second volume of the original work in order to focus on the black box that holds the key to the unknown thoughts of Harold, the Amicus robot. There are plenty of other highlights to see, such as Your Forma's cyber-subjective view and the electronic search scenes to track down the case, so please look forward to it!"
A teaser visual showing Ethica and Harold standing back to back, connected by a cord, and a teaser PV featuring an action scene of Ethica diving into a person's "memory" with an electric cable have also been released.
