Former member of the idol group "Hinatazaka46", actor and talent Kageyama Yuka will appear in the eighth episode (broadcast on December 15th) of the TV drama series "My Diary" (ABC TV/TV Asahi, Sundays at 10:15pm).
The drama is an original work by Ruri Hyodo, an up-and-coming screenwriter who made her debut in 2020, and stars Kaya Kiyohara. The story is about the youth of five men and women, with the protagonist Yuki Onmura (played by Kiyohara), a first-year working adult, looking back on the past through small everyday events.
Kageyama plays Kaede Deguchi, a math genius who was a classmate of Hiromi (Hayato Sano) during his time studying abroad in the United States. Kaede reunites with Hiromi after a long time and gives him a math problem he created as a "gift." Kaede's presence brings about a big change in the relationship between Hiromi and Yuki.
Kageyama himself is a graduate of the University of Tsukuba High School in Tokyo, which has an academic ability score of over 75, and is known as a member of MENSA, an international group open to people with IQs in the top 2% of the population. This "genius" will be playing the role of another "genius."
Kageyama introduced the character by saying, "I tried to create an atmosphere that was natural, but also had a slightly different air about it. Episode 8 is also a story about a kind lie, and I'm looking forward to seeing how everyone who watches it on screen will digest it."
Kageyama will be co-starring with Sano for the first time since the film "Kaguya-sama: Love Is War - The Geniuses' War of Love and Brains - Final" (2021). This will be his first time co-starring with Kiyohara.
Tomoko Fujita also appears in the story, playing Yoko Ota, a senior teacher at Yuki's workplace.
