It has been announced that Yuichi Nakamura will be appearing as a voice actor in the TV anime "Baban Baban Ban Vampire," based on the manga by Hiromasa Okushima currently being serialized in "Bessatsu Shonen Champion" (Akita Shoten). Nakamura will play Nagayoshi Mori, the older brother of the 450-year-old vampire Mori Ranmaru.
Nagayoshi Mori is small like a boy, but is one of the powerful, mature vampires. He was known as "Demon Musashi" during his lifetime, and was a cruel man who, unlike Ranmaru, who only sucks the blood of criminals and tries to maintain symbiosis with humans, used his powers on ordinary people indiscriminately and sucked their blood according to his desires.
Nakamura commented on the appeal of this work, "I found the tempo of the gags and the exquisite timing and atmosphere that were born from each person's serious efforts to be entertaining. The personalities of each character are also appealing." Regarding his role as Mori Nagayoshi, he said, "Since he appears in a relatively serious part, I tried to express the seriousness of the character while respecting the atmosphere up to that point. Also, I had to give off the air of being the older brother of Namikawa (Daisuke)-san, so I acted carefully."
It was also announced that a live-streaming special program, "TV Anime 'Baban Baban Baban Vampire' Live Streaming Bath," featuring cast members Namikawa, Kobayashi Yusuke, Kazama Mayuko, and Yashiro Taku, will be streamed on YouTube and other platforms from 7:00 pm on December 15th. The latest information will also be announced.
"Baban Baban Ban Vampire" will begin serialization in October 2021 in Bessatsu Shonen Champion. Hiding his true identity, 450-year-old vampire Mori Ranmaru works as a live-in part-timer at a public bathhouse. He struggles to protect the chastity of the bathhouse's only son, Rijin (15 years old), in search of the ultimate taste of "18-year-old virgin blood." The anime will be directed and scripted by Kawasaki Itsuro and produced by GAINA. Namikawa will play Mori Ranmaru and Kobayashi will play Tatsuno Rijin, respectively. It will be broadcast on TV Asahi's anime slot "IMAnimation" every Saturday at 11:30 pm from January 11, 2025.
It is also being talked about that a live-action movie will be released on February 14, 2025. Actors Ryo Yoshizawa and Rihito Itagaki will play Mori Ranmaru and Tatsuno Rihito, respectively.
