It has been announced that the TV anime series "The Strongest King, What Will He Do in His Second Life?", based on "The Beginning After the End," a fantasy reincarnation adventure by TurtleMe that began serialization in 2018 on "Tapas," one of the largest web manga platforms in the United States, will be broadcast on Fuji TV's late-night anime slot "+Ultra" from April 2025. The main cast has also been announced, with Fujiwara Natsumi playing the protagonist Arthur, who is living his "second life," and Furukawa Makoto playing Gray, the strongest king who was Arthur's previous life. Fujiwara and Furukawa will play one character together.
Fujiwara, who plays Arthur Raywin, commented, "This time, I'm nervous about the dubbing process, as I will be living the life of a new character named Arthur together with Furukawa, who plays Gray! I hope you enjoy seeing what kind of life Gray lived in his previous life, and what he thinks and does after being reborn as Arthur! Thank you very much!"
Furukawa, who plays Gray, said, "I hope that viewers will enjoy the story of the protagonist Arthur's growth, while also finding it unusual that he is reincarnated into another world from a fantasy world. Gray is Arthur's previous life and the person behind the character. He is an interesting character who never loses his presence in serious scenes as well as comedic ones. I hope everyone will look forward to the broadcast."
The story depicts the "second life" of the strongest king in history, Gray, who is suddenly reincarnated one morning into the magical world as a helpless baby named Arthur, and grows up despite his struggles with the love of his family and friends. In Japan, the series began serialization in 2020 on the web manga service Piccoma under the title "What will the strongest king do in his second life?", and in about a year it exceeded 20 million hearts (likes). It is also popular in China and Korea, and has been viewed more than 150 million times worldwide. The anime will be directed by Keitaro Motonaga and produced by studio A-CAT.
