It has been announced that singer-songwriter Aimyon will be performing the theme song for the latest film in the popular anime series "Doraemon: Nobita's Art World Tales," the 44th film in the series. Aimyon is a huge Doraemon fan and has written a new song, "Sketch," for the theme song. The announcement was made at the Hiroshima Green Arena (Naka-ku, Hiroshima) performance of the arena tour "AIMYON TOUR 2024-25 "Dolphin Apart" held on December 8th.
Aimyon expressed her joy, saying, "I felt so happy, thinking, 'It's finally here! My dream is coming true!' I wanted to tell Wasabi (Mizuta), who is my friend, myself, so I surprised her by going to the set on the first day of dubbing for 'Nobita's Picture World Story' and telling her in person. She said to me, 'Your dream has finally come true,' and we both hugged each other and cried."
Regarding the theme song "Sketch," he said, "I created it because I wanted to incorporate the image of the film, while depicting the journey of Doraemon and Nobita, who have been on many adventures so far. While thinking about how much of the film's theme of 'pictures' to incorporate into the song, I suddenly thought of Doraemon and Nobita's daily lives, and I thought that even the marks left by Nobita's glasses on his face after he takes them off before going to bed would be a picturesque, a very endearing scene that makes you want to draw it. That was the trigger, and the song writing proceeded smoothly. Also, I think it's a perfect song for the story, with a gentle and soft impression, so that the theme song that plays at the end of the film won't be separated from the film itself."
At the Hiroshima Green Arena concert where it was announced that she would be performing the theme song, a preview video using the theme song "Sketch" was played, and then Aimyon called out to Doraemon and Nobita to appear. When Doraemon said, "It's a great theme song that supports our great adventure, isn't it?", Aimyon happily replied, "Thank you, I'm so happy! The trailer shows Doraemon and Nobita enjoying an adventure in the Principality of Arturia, a medieval European world that expands into the world inside a painting using a secret gadget called the Crawl Light. There, Doraemon and his friends meet Claire and her friends, who tell them about a mythical gem (Arturia Blue) that gives off a mysterious blue color and is hidden in the Principality of Arturia. Doraemon and his friends are determined to find the gem, saying that it is "worth more than diamonds!" However, an "ancient legend" that has been passed down for generations in the Principality of Arturia is revived, and they find themselves in a dire pinch.
A poster visual was also released, showing Doraemon, Nobita and friends taking off in a dynamic fashion against the backdrop of the Principality of Arturia, with its vivid blue sky and lake. A mysterious shadow looms over the castle towering over the lake. The accompanying copy reads, "The world will be vibrant with everyone's colors."
A total of 100,000 people nationwide will receive a rubber key chain of Doraemon wearing a beret and holding a paintbrush, called "Exciting! Drawing Doraemon," if they purchase a pre-sale ticket for the film at movie theaters nationwide from December 13th. It was also announced that a booklet called "Doraemon the Movie: Nobita's Picture World Story 'Iroiro! Manga BOOK'" will be given away as a special gift to moviegoers.
The latest film is the 45th anniversary of the "Doraemon the Movie" series. The setting is the "world inside the painting," where Doraemon and Nobita and his friends meet in the painting and face off against a powerful enemy over the phantom jewel. It will be directed by Teramoto Yukiyo, who directed the TV anime "Doraemon" and became the first female director of the series with "Doraemon the Movie: Nobita's New Great Adventure into the Underworld ~The Seven Magicians~" in 2007, and Ito Kimihito, who has written many screenplays for the TV anime "Doraemon," will be in charge of the script for the "Doraemon the Movie" series for the first time. It will be released on March 7, 2025.
