The winners of the "Anime Achievement Category" of the international animation film festival "Tokyo Anime Award Festival 2025 (TAAF2025)" were announced on November 28th. The winners are producer Masami Iwasaki, who worked on "World Masterpiece Fairy Tales: The Andersen Story" and "The Stars of La Seine", producer Takayuki Yoshii, who worked on "Crusher Joe" and "Brave Exkaiser", animator Kazuhide Tomonaga, known for "Lupin III: The Castle of Cagliostro", and voice actor Kenyu Horiuchi. Others who were selected were Sachiko Nonaka, a leading color designer who has supported Shin-Ei Animation's TV and film works, editor Shuichi Kakesu, and music director Seiji Suzuki. TAAF2025 is planning to hold a special exhibition and special programs introducing the achievements of the awardees. A special PV for TAAF2025, narrated by voice actor Shugo Nakamura, was also released on YouTube. Nakamura commented, "Actually, this was the first time I heard about TAAF, but I thought it was wonderful that it has been held for over 10 years to spread the word about animation. As someone involved in animation, I hope that animation will spread even more around the world, so I am extremely happy to have this opportunity to participate in TAAF!" TAAF has been held since 2014 with the aim of promoting anime culture and industry, and discovering and nurturing new talent. The "Competition Division" is for anime from around the world that have not yet been screened in Japan, and the "Anime of the Year Division" is for anime released in Japan. It will be held in Ikebukuro, Tokyo from March 7 to 10, 2025.
