It has been announced that the second round of Mubichike card-type advance tickets for "Mononoke The Movie: Chapter 2: Fire Rat," the second chapter of the completely new movie version of the popular TV anime "Mononoke," which was broadcast on Fuji TV's late-night anime slot "Noitamina" in 2007, will go on sale on November 29th. There are two designs for the Mubichike, depicting the main character, the medicine seller, and the sacred object that the medicine seller possesses during battle. When the two designs are lined up, the patterns that appear when the medicine seller and the sacred object switch places are connected to form a single image.
As a limited-edition bonus for purchasing Mubichike, a "silhouette design-style hand towel (half size)" with motifs of scales, rats, flames, and pieces that appear in the movie will be given as a gift. There will also be a campaign for Mubichike advance ticket (online) buyers to win invitations to stage greetings and signed scripts by the cast. Applications will open at noon on December 5th.
"Mononoke" is an anime produced by a reunion of staff from the popular episode "Bakeneko" of "Ayakashi", which aired on Noitamina in 2006. The story depicts the bizarre tale of a medicine seller who appeared in "Bakeneko" facing off against a Mononoke.
"Mononoke the Movie: Karakasa" is the first new anime in about 17 years since the TV anime aired in 2007. Following the TV anime, it is directed by Nakamura Kenji and produced by EOTA. Set in the inner palace where the passions of women swirl, the medicine seller pursues the true identity of the "Mononoke". The new movie will have three chapters, with the first chapter, "Mononoke the Movie: Karakasa", being released on July 26th, and the second chapter, "Mononoke the Movie: Chapter 2: Fire Rat", being released on March 14th, 2025.
