A completely original side story, "Ano Yoru wo Yurushite Yarunanda," to the Tuesday drama "Ano Kuzu wo Hitte Iranda" (TBS, Tuesday 10pm) has begun streaming exclusively on TVer.
"Ano Yoru wo Yurushite Yarunanda" is set in Snack Akemi, the family restaurant of Sato Hokomi (Nao), who also appears in the main story, and is a one-scene romantic comedy in which Ooba Souto (Koseki Yuta), Nitta Nade (Tamai Shiori of Momoiro Clover Z), Kojima Shun (Asano Junya), and Hokomi's younger sister Sayami (Narumi Yui) try to figure out each other's intentions. The story depicts the characters' candid true feelings, worries, conflicts, and growth that are hidden in the main story.
The next episode, episode 2, is scheduled to be streamed on November 19th. TVer also streams episodes 1 to 3 of the main story, a digest, special interviews available exclusively on streaming, and a press conference.
Comments from Nao, Koseki, and Tamai are below.
◇Full comments from Nao, Koseki Yuta, and Tamai Shiori
--Please tell us what the highlights of "I Want to Forgive That Night" are.
Nao: The highlight is the candid portrayal of the true feelings of the city hall members and Sayami (Narumi) that could not be fully depicted in the main story. Various emotions that even Hokomi did not know collide, and I was surprised when I read the script, and it was very interesting. Please also pay attention to the true feelings and love (?) of Ohba Souto (Koseki) and Nitta Nade (Tamai)!
Koseki: In "I Want to Forgive That Night", four people (Ohba, Nade, Sayami, Kojima) who rarely meet in the main story talk at Hokomi's family's snack bar. I think there are a lot of different elements packed into this one situation, such as characters becoming friends and opening up to each other, and the emotions of Nitta Nade, played by Tamai.
Tamai: It's "the story of one night," where the characters' true feelings and hidden parts that couldn't be fully depicted in the main story are confronted. It's very interesting.
--In reference to "I want to forgive that night," is there anything you want to "forgive"?
Nao: This time, I was on a diet as part of my fitness training (at the time of the interview), and I was also refraining from my favorite alcohol and my favorite cheeseburgers, so on the night we wrap up filming, I want to "forgive myself" and eat alcohol and a cheeseburger (laughs)!
Koseki: Recently, I've had more opportunities to look at photos and videos from my childhood with my family and to provide them for variety shows, and while doing so, I came across some of the important toys I used to play with as a child. But when I looked closely, I saw that some of them had been bitten by dogs. I was like, "Hey!" But maybe because I've gotten older, I can forgive it completely. I think the previous one would have been even more of a shock.
Tamai: So you're saying "I want to forgive the dog" (laughs).
Koseki: I think the dog is cuter than the memories.
Tamai: I'm usually really active on my days off, thinking "I have to go outside" or "I have to do something", so until now I couldn't forgive myself for "staying at home on my day off and doing nothing". But recently, I've started to want to forgive myself and think "it's okay to have days like this". Like I can affirm that "today was the day I did nothing"... Maybe it's the effect of getting older?
--Please give a message to the viewers who will be watching "Ano Yoru wo Yurushite Shitai Nda" on TVer.
Nao: In addition to Ooba and Nade, the story also depicts the true feelings and secret love of the characters that could not be fully depicted in the main story, such as "So that's what Kojikoji (Kojima Shun, Asano) was thinking" and "So that's what Sayami was feeling." The story is set in "Snack Akemi." There are many different feelings mixed up, so please enjoy this bold comedy along with the main story. I also make a small appearance! Koseki: Of course, the main story is a romantic comedy, but "Ano Yoru" is also a fast-paced "comedy," so I think it's a work that will make you laugh a lot. The four characters are even more developed, giving each other advice and getting a little annoyed with each other, but in the end it's a heartwarming story. After watching all the side stories, one of the interesting things is that everyone has grown, so please pay attention to that and enjoy it. Tamai: I think that if you enjoy the side stories along with the main story, the work will have more depth and you will be able to understand the loveability and humanity of each character. Please take a look.
