It has been announced that the TV anime "Akuyaku Reijou Tensei Ojisan," based on the manga by Michio Kamiyama currently being serialized in "Monthly Young King Ours GH" (Shonen Gahosha), will be broadcast on the MBS/TBS late-night anime slot "Super Animeism TURBO" from January 9, 2025. The anime follows a shocking plot in which 52-year-old Tondenbayashi Kenzaburou is reincarnated as a villainous young lady in the world of the otome game "Magical School Love & Beast." A key visual has also been released, showing Grace Auverne (=Kensaburo) and other students from the Royal Magic Academy standing side by side in a room decorated with Tondenbayashi Kenzaburou's paintings.
Additional cast members were also announced, including Otsuka Akio as Leopold Auverne, Grace's father and the kingdom's Minister of Finance; Shinohara Yu as Josette, a beast girl who serves as an apprentice maid at the Auverne household; and Kuwahara Yuki as Francette Mercure, a first-year student at the Royal Magic Academy.
Otsuka said, "I think the appeal of the series lies in how Kenzaburo interacts with the people around him, and how that changes the way people think and act." He added, "In playing Leopold Auverne, I hope to be able to express his noble, yet kind and approachable personality."
Shinohara said, "Josette is a little apprentice maid, a beast girl, and she's really, really cute! She's also clumsy and has some issues with understanding... I think she's a really interesting character! I'll do my best to bring all of Josette's charm to everyone!" Kuwabara said, "I feel like I'm meeting Francette Mercure, the character I'm playing, for the first time! When it comes to the things she likes, she loses control, and her behavior is so similar that I feel like I'm watching myself, so I felt a strong affinity with her! I want to make full use of the parts that link us and convey her straightforward feelings of 'love!' with all my might through my voice!"
A commercial featuring Grace (Kensaburo)'s monologue along with footage from the anime has also been released on YouTube.
The story is about an older man, reincarnation in another world, and a villainous young lady. The story follows 52-year-old earnest civil servant, Tondenbayashi Kenzaburo, who gets into a traffic accident and is reincarnated as Grace Auverne, the villainous young lady from the world of the otome game "Magical School Love & Beast." Kenzaburou decides to act as a villainous young lady, but her "elegant cheat" ability, which automatically transforms parental speech and commoner behavior into elegant ones, activates, and she unintentionally ends up setting up flags with the handsome men she is trying to capture in the game.
